We know you have multiple choices when placing your child in a dance studio.  Our superior level of teachers and staff not only make S BE Dance an educational experience, but a joyful one as well.

We offer dance classes as early as 18 months to introduce the love of dance and incorporate the basic motor skill that every growing toddler needs. A balance of hand and eyes coordination with the use of props, songs and dance, and mats make these classes fun for the dancer and reinforces the everyday needs of development. Parents are welcome to cheer on their "new" dancer in the beginning months and then  begin to allow the student teacher relationship to grow.

After Prime Steps, we begin our 3-4 ballet/tap  or 4-5 combo classes.  Theses classes meet once a week (we offer these classes Monday-Saturday as well as weekday morning) for 1 hour.

The ballet portion introduces the fundamental of dance. From the turnout, to learning the 5 positions of dance. They are also taught a dance for their 1st dance showcase.  The tap portion is also important at this age as they listen to new sounds, incorporate rhythm as well as balance.  A fun tap dance that blends all of the skills the students have learned through the year is also taught.

Progressing into the 5-6 year old range a new style of dance is added to the ballet and tap fundamentals, Jazz.

Jazz incorporates balance, fast pace beats, and of course great music to really get the dancers focused.  While Ballet focuses on the turn out approach to dance, jazz encompasses the turn in approach (parallel). Whether you enjoy ballet, jazz is a great reinforce for balance, flexibility, and mobility.  Tap is also strengthened during these years in making the crisp sounds and understanding the difference and use of the toe and heel tap.

Ages 6 and Up can continue with Ballet, Tap, and/or jazz, but Hip Hop is also introduced at this age.  If you like Jazz, then you will love Hop Hop.

Hip-hop dance refers to social or choreographed dance styles primarily danced to hip-hop music This includes a wide range of styles notably breaking, locking, and popping which are constantly evolving. There is no limitations to Hip Hop dance!

Lyrical dance is a branch off of a strong ballet foundation.  This is why a ballet class is required if you plan on registering for a lyrical class.  Lyrical has a slower rhythm, but make strong emotional impacts with the emphasis being on the "lyrics" of the song.

Modern Dance-  a style of free and expressive theatrical dancing not bound by the classical rules of ballet, but still carries the strong background of ballet technique.  Contractions, flexed feet and isolations are common in the form of dance.
